Arbor Day tree planting at Alpine Animal Shelter Alpine, this Saturday, Jan. 28
On January 24, 2012
Everyone is encouraged to participate in an Arbor Day tree-planting at the Alpine Animal Shelter on Saturday, January 28th. Learn how to plant small trees, install drip irrigation to keep them watered, and build wire cages to protect them from deer and other critters. We will be planting evergreen trees on the northwest side of the property to help shelter the dog kennels from cold wind and hot sun. Work begins at 11a.m. and continues until the project is complete, so the more participants we have, the quicker the job will get done! Bring gloves, digging tools, and drinking water. This project is sponsored and funded by the Big Bend Chapter of the Texas Native Plant Society. For more information, call 294-3183.
