Brewster County Emergency Services Director Dave Lambrix has announced his bid for Brewster County Commissioner. Lambrix will run in Precinct 2 for the position to be vacated by Hugh Garrett who recently announced he will not seek re-election.In a statement to the Gazette, Lambrix wrote:
“Why am I running for Commissioner? I have been in public service my entire life. President Kennedy once said, “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.”
I took this to heart from hearing him speak this as a kid and that has been my motto. I started as a volunteer firefighter while a senior in High School, continued into my military service, through my law enforcement and emergency management career. My volunteer service to our community is via American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Lions Club.
My priorities are public safety and economic trade and tourism.”
An interview with Lambrix will appear in the December print edition of the Gazette.
