Alpine Bond Election voting has begun

Alpine Bond Election early voting began this morning at  8:00 AM

Residents of the Alpine Independent School District will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed $29.5 million bond issue.

According to the district, if passed, the bond in question will be used to finance the following: building a new High School Academic Building; installing security upgrades to the main entry vestibule renovations to Career and Tech Education space; additional storage for Band Hall; building a new, regulation size gym; air conditioning for the existing gyms; constructing new dressing rooms for boys and girls; and creating a new Pickup/Drop Off drive at the Elementary School.

If the bond passes, the estimated tax impact to residents of the district will be between $94.40 to $738.92, annually, depending on property value.

Early voting will take place between April 23-27, from 8:00 AM to 5: 00 PM, and between April 30-May 1, also from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On election day, polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

All voting is at Alpine City Hall, located at 803 West Holland Avenue in Alpine.
